Internal medicine and primary care for adults in Stuart, Florida
Ocean Heart and Health is a primary care practice, and most of what Dr. Clark does is the ordinary, essential work of caring for adults over time. Alongside that, she offers a smaller set of services aimed at metabolic health, hormones, and nutrition — the things that shape how well a person feels day to day and how their health holds up over decades.
Primary and Preventive Care
Annual physicals, preventive health evaluations, and screenings matched to your age, history, and risk factors. Ongoing management of chronic conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and thyroid disorders. Coordination with specialists when a referral is the right call.
This is the foundation of the practice. Read more about internal medicine here.
Metabolic Health and Healthy Weight
Dr. Clark does not describe this as weight loss, because better health is about considerably more than a smaller number on a scale. She thinks of it as finding health — and weight is one signal among several, alongside blood pressure, blood sugar, lipids, strength, energy, and sleep.
In practice that means looking at what your body is actually doing rather than working from a target weight, and building a plan you can sustain. Dr. Clark is a firm believer in movement and in resistance training in particular. Muscle is metabolically active tissue, and for most adults — especially past middle age — lifting weights does more for long-term metabolic health, bone density, and independence than any amount of time spent trying to eat less.
Care here is personalized and medical rather than programmatic. There is no standard plan everyone receives.
Hormone Replacement Therapy
Hormone levels change with age, and for some adults that change meaningfully affects energy, sleep, mood, body composition, and quality of life. Dr. Clark evaluates whether hormone replacement is appropriate for you based on symptoms, laboratory testing, and your individual medical history and risk profile — including cardiovascular risk, which her background makes her particularly attentive to.
Hormone therapy is not right for everyone, and the honest answer for some patients is that the risks outweigh the benefits. That conversation is part of the evaluation.
Biometric Screening
Objective measurement of the markers that indicate how your metabolic and cardiovascular health is trending — so that decisions rest on data rather than impressions, and so that change over time is visible.
Nutrition
Practical dietary guidance built around your health conditions, your preferences, and what you will realistically eat. The goal is a way of eating that supports metabolic health and that you can keep to, not a short-term diet.
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMM / OMT)
As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Clark provides hands-on osteopathic manipulative treatment for musculoskeletal complaints such as low back pain, neck pain, stiffness, and tension headaches. Because she is also your physician, manual treatment happens in the context of your overall care rather than in isolation. Read more about OMT.
Insurance, and Services Paid Out of Pocket
Ocean Heart and Health is not a concierge practice. There is no membership fee and no retainer. Dr. Clark provides primary care and internal medicine as an ordinary insurance-based practice, and your visits are billed the way they would be at any other physician’s office.
Some of the services above are not covered by insurance, and those are offered on a self-pay basis. We will tell you clearly, before anything is provided, whether a service is covered by your plan or paid out of pocket, and what it costs. Nothing is billed to you as a surprise.
Please call (772) 208-6053 to confirm we accept your plan or to ask what a particular service costs.
